Strategies for Success: Expanding Products & Services
I hope you’re finding our weekly insights on the 12 Habits of Highly Profitable Businesses valuable. Last time, we explored Downselling. Today, let’s delve into the concept of EXPANDING PRODUCTS & SERVICES.
Expanding your range of products and services can be a powerful strategy. If you already offer a quality product or service, your existing customers are likely to be receptive to new offerings you introduce, recommend, or endorse. After all, they trust you. This trust often translates into a demand for additional products and services. However, many businesses overlook this opportunity due to a lack of diverse offerings. It’s essential to ask yourself, “What other products or services could my customers find valuable?”
Once you’ve identified potential offerings, consider partnering with providers through affiliate programs. For instance, think of a landscaper. While their primary service may be lawn care, their clients might also require tree trimming, decking, fencing, and more. By recommending trusted providers for these additional services, the landscaper can earn referral fees, significantly boosting their revenue without directly offering these services themselves.
As a business advisor, I implement a similar strategy. My top-tier clients gain access to a range of additional services, including online learning resources, weekly meetings, drop-in calls, exclusive mastermind sessions, and other events. These services, cost nothing to implement but greatly enhance the value proposition for my clients and differentiate me from competitors.
The same approach can be applied to your business. How many additional offerings could you introduce? By establishing partnerships and negotiating favorable deals, you can add significant revenue to your bottom line. A conservative estimate suggests this strategy could increase your current revenue by up to 10%.
If you haven’t already, I encourage you to download our comprehensive guide, “12 Habits of Highly Profitable Businesses.” This resource outlines strategies that have propelled numerous business owners to substantial profits within their first year.
