What I Didn’t Expect When I Said Yes to God

I didn’t intend to write a book.
I didn’t plan to walk away from what felt secure.
And I definitely didn’t know where this story would go.

But I did sense God asking me to say yes.

Yes to what?

To trusting Him in uncertainty.
To releasing control.
To laying down what I thought I had to build — and waiting for what He would reveal.

That yes wasn’t loud or impressive.
But it was real.
And it changed everything.

What I didn’t expect…

• I didn’t expect to lose my job.
• I didn’t expect to feel so disoriented at first.
• I didn’t expect to doubt so much along the way.

But I also didn’t expect:

• The peace that would come through obedience
• The clarity I didn’t have to force
• And the slow but steady confirmation that I was exactly where I needed to be

A Better Story

This wasn’t the story I would’ve written for myself.
But it’s become one I’m deeply grateful for.

God didn’t just lead me out of something.
He led me into something —
Something more aligned, more sustainable, more eternal.
