Trust the Slow Work of God
I’ve always been drawn to people who move fast—leaders who see opportunity, act decisively, and make things happen.
But over time, I’ve learned that hurry and holiness rarely coexist.
Surrender isn’t a one-time act; it’s a daily practice of releasing control.
In fact, most of my spiritual growth hasn’t come through acceleration—it’s come through waiting, pruning, and letting go.
One of my mentors once told me,
“Chris, if you rush God’s process, you’ll miss God’s purpose.”
That sentence still rings in my ears when I find myself trying to force outcomes.
Discernment is the art of trusting God’s pace.
It’s believing that slow doesn’t mean stuck, and silence doesn’t mean absence.
Maybe you’re carrying something that feels like it’s taking too long—a dream deferred, a plan delayed, a relationship unresolved.
Let me encourage you: God’s work may be hidden, but it’s never idle.
Your role is faithfulness; His is fruitfulness.
Reflection Question:
Where might God be asking you to slow down so He can finish what He’s started in you?
This reflection comes from From Success to Surrender, Chapters 7–9.
If you’re navigating uncertainty, this section will help you practice discernment and find peace in God’s perfect pace.
