3 Lessons I Didn’t Expect to Learn After Writing the Book

When I wrote From Success to Surrender, I thought I was closing a chapter.
Turns out—I was opening one.

Here are three things I didn’t expect to learn as an author on the other side of publishing:

1. Obedience is more than a story—it’s a posture

Writing this book meant opening my hands again and again. The parts of the story I was most tempted to hide are the parts readers have most connected with.

2. Surrender doesn’t stop at the signature

I thought “finishing the book” would bring a sense of finality. But it’s revealed just how much I still need to let go of. The process continues—in business, in family, in faith.

3. The message keeps deepening

Even after launch, I’ve found myself revisiting key themes: identity, trust, margin, and rhythm. These aren’t one-time revelations—they’re ongoing invitations.
