A 10-Year Prophecy Fulfilled—On the Exact Day

Some stories are just too good not to tell.
I’ve waited a few weeks to share this—not wanting to draw attention away from the bride and groom—but I can’t not tell it. It’s simply too powerful a glimpse into how God moves… and how He speaks.
If you’ve read From Success to Surrender, you know I share several stories of how God has miraculously shown up in my life—often in ways that opened my eyes to the reality that He has a voice. A real, unique, and recognizable voice.
One of the ways I’ve heard that voice over the years is through a man named John, a spiritual advisor and friend who has since passed. I first met John back in 2011 at an advisory board meeting. At the time, I didn’t even know who he was—but in the middle of the meeting, he stopped, looked at me, and said: “This man is being called into ministry to use his business experience in the church.”
That moment caught me completely off guard. It also launched a journey of discerning whether prophetic words were real… and if they were, what it meant for me.
Over the years, John and I would meet regularly. And while not every time, there were moments when he would pray and speak what Scripture calls a “word of knowledge”—a divinely inspired insight about God’s purpose or future calling. These words were often mysterious at the time. Some came to pass quickly. Others took years to understand. But over and over again, they proved true.
That brings me to this story.
On June 19, 2015, John shared a vision with me during one of our meetings. He said:
“I saw Lisa sitting beside you in a meeting during the day. There was an anointing on you both—as a couple. You were discipling another younger couple, maybe in their 30s. It felt like a kind of marriage ministry or counseling. You were helping them grow together.”
At the time, it felt distant. Lisa and I weren’t doing much in that space—though we had occasionally supported couples through our church. A few years later, around 2019, one of the girls from Lisa’s high school ministry reached out to us, and we began offering some informal premarital coaching.
Still, we didn’t fully understand the word. Until earlier this year.
In early 2025, I was asked to be ordained by Traders Point Christian Church. On the morning of my ordination—February 9, 2025—I was praying, asking the Lord what He might want me to share that day. What came clearly to mind was: “Go back to your journals.”
As I searched, I came across the prophecy from June 19, 2015—the vision of Lisa and me counseling couples.
And in that moment, it hit me: I already had one wedding on the calendar—the Winget wedding, a couple Lisa and I were actively coaching.
The date of that wedding?
June 19, 2025.
Exactly 10 years to the day from the original word.
It was a moment of awe, confirmation, and joy. A prophetic word—spoken a decade earlier—fulfilled to the very date. And not just any word, but one that affirmed the unique calling Lisa and I share to walk alongside couples in premarital coaching and marriage ministry.
Now, with my ordination complete, we’re stepping more fully into that calling. And this moment was a reminder: God is always speaking. Always guiding. Sometimes we just need to wait, trust, and remember.
