If you live in Indianapolis, IN, there is a good chance you’re familiar with Shepard Community Center.  Located in the heart of downtown Indianapolis, they have several great initiatives ongoing to aid to “break the cycle of poverty”.  One of those initiatives is their Summer Excel program which engages students in a special way.

Jeff Boxell, Senior Relational Manager, Shepherd Community Center passed along the following regarding their needs for this summer’s program.

Hope you and the family are doing well. I am reaching out to you to consider sponsoring a child or two to attend our 6 weeks of summer program at Shepherd.  We will have about 200 kids in the program, and 25 college interns helping lead the summer activities.

The Summer Excel program engages with students in activities that bring learning and fun together. Activities like gardening, experimenting with science, Bible stories, field trips to the zoo and the pool, math, English and reading games, and much more. Summer programs are about developing meaningful relationships with students and helping them grow physically, emotionally, spiritually, and academically. YOU can help make a difference in a child’s life this summer.  The cost is about $600 for the summer or $100 a week. Your investment will change lives!

Let me know what you can do!

Have great weekend!

Jeff
